Good ol’ Rivington Street Festival.

Absolutely loved playing here. Thanks to everyone who made it and caught my Barbara from Brazil set. I think it went down pretty well. ;-)

****JUNE GIGS*****

It’s been pretty good at Circus Towers of late, eh?  The Streetfest event I played at in May was unbelievable, and so good to see such a great turnout for what was a brilliant day, capped off with great sets by the headliners Goldie and Ms Dynamite.

Here’s what’s coming up over the next few weeks:

Friday 20th June - EASTWEST • DUBROVNIK

image

I’m very pleased to be invited to play at Croatia’s EastWest Beach Club in Dubrovnik. They started flying British DJs over to play during last summer, including the likes of HorseMeatDisco’s Jim Stanton, Ben Pistor and Danny Ashenden from the C90s.  I’m really looking forward to my debut there.

Sunday 22nd June - RIVINGTON STREET FESTIVAL

image

I will be Djing at this years Rivington Street Festival, but not under the Kid Circus name.  I will be bringing Barbara from Brazil out of hiding! Yes, it’s been a while since I played under this name and the people have spoken, so I will be playing a carnivaleque set at RSF this year.

Playing alongside me is the man they call TwelveTens (aka Twitter’s very funny @Cluedont) bringing his crate of funk, disco and house. Also on the electronic stage is Batty Bass records head honcho Hannah Holland, who is joined by long-time stalwart Mama

Unfortunately, the festival will only go on until 6.30pm this year. However, there will be after parties at some of the surrounding bars.  My pick is the ABATTOIR after party upstairs at the Bedroom Bar from 6pm-1am.  They’ve racked up an impressive amount of rather excellent parties in the last 18 months, and this one features longtime residents Rufus and Bambi and Anomalous Visuals. As with other parties, this one is free to those who have an RSF wristband.

Saturday 28th June - TRAPEZE BASEMENT BAR

image

I recently played at Trapeze as a last-minute addition a few weeks ago, and they have asked me back!  The place has truly changed beyond recognition from when it was East Village, for the better, and I can’t wait to come down and do it again. In the basement will be my old mucka Stuart Patterson with his inimitable house vibes, with more DJs to be confirmed.

And yes, the fact that someone whose name includes the word Circus is playing at a place called Trapeze has not escaped me!
